Winding along the Monterey Bay coastline in California, this waterfront recreation trail stretches 18-miles long from Pacific Grove to Castroville and is known as one of the most scenic trails in California. Most of this historic path runs where the old tracks of the Southern Pacific Railroad once ran, but now the Monterey Peninsula Recreation Trail is a great way for visitors to leisurely navigate to all of Monterey's top attractions, so cars are never needed. Its scenic vistas and coastal beauty makes this trail not your ordinary footpath. Visitors can walk, bike, jog, and even kayak or paddle board along the path, while stopping at the coastal attractions of Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, beaches, and Downtown Monterey. Every step taken offers picturesque views of the rugged seascape and natural wildlife.
