I was lucky and got the last room here on busy Memorial Day weekend :) I really enjoyed my stay here. Staff was very friendly and responsive to my concerns, particularly Ana and Aman! The room was very cozy and felt like home. Mine was just above a quiet street and sitting with a book by a roaring fireplace and on a balcony was exactly what I needed to recharge. The location was perfect for me, close to the marina and beach and only 4 minutes to Cannery Row by car. Old Monterey has some neat cafés and shops all around too. Breakfast was very complete! It varied the two days I was there, with items like muffins, bagels, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes... And coffee, juices, and teas. It was better than I expected after reading a couple of reviews here. Also, there are bikes that you can rent on-site at the hotel with a card. Helmets and locks are provided in the lobby, but I did not have time to try them :) Convenient to be able to grab these right from the hotel. Hopefully I will try them next time! Only small thing I might note is that the room was not totally soundproof and that might be an issue for some. I noticed a bit late that my window was slightly open. Once I closed it, there was a bit less noise, but something to note if you really need quiet. Hope to be back again soon! Loved my stay here and big shoutout to the whole staff.

This was one of my best hotel experiences. I didn't have a reservation and took a chance. I'm so glad I did! From the era on at the desk to the rest of the staff, top-notch service. The room was spotless and the bed was dreamy. The fireplace just topped the experience off! Will definitely be back to spend multiple days! Oh yeah, being able to walk everywhere I wanted...bonus! Thank you! ♥️

Great place to stay near the fishermen’s wharf and the old downtown area.

Got lucky with this booking. Was traveling around Monterey Bay and booking day by day as we traveled. I thought this hotel was great. The price was unbeatable for the room we got. The rooms are furnished like an apartment, complete with multiple seating areas, a working fireplace, a private patio and a nice bathroom with a walk in shower and a shower tub combo. Two people could actually get ready here at the same time - which it’s important in Monterey where things close down fairly early in the evening. Some guests noted the walls were thin and we heard some noise from the ice machine but it wasn’t terribly disruptive. Parked our rental car on the street overnight and didn’t have any issue with tickets or parking enforcement. Breakfast was a little lackluster if I had to be critical of anything - it would be that, but it was still nice to have a snack before heading out for the day. Would recommend staying here, especially if you are a low maintenance traveler.

Stayed at Hotel Pacific on short notice after a booking mix-up on my end. Samantha at the front desk was great — patient, kind, and genuinely helpful when I was tired and frustrated. She made what could have been a stressful situation easy. The suite itself is beautiful: spacious, quiet, with a fireplace and separate sitting area. Would stay again.

We stayed at the Hotel Pacific for one night on our trip down the California Coast. I typically book rooms at major chain hotels, but the they were quite pricey in Monterey. I saw good reviews for the Hotel Pacific and was able to get a very good rate online for a Junior Suite. The room was spacious and far exceeded our expectations! It included a living area, small dining table, a fireplace, and had a balcony overlooking a pretty courtyard. The room even had wine glasses, a corkscrew and bottle opener. The bathroom was huge and had both a walk-in shower and a separate tub/shower combo, which I've never seen in a hotel. The bed was very comfortable too! The hotel was located just a couple of blocks away from a street lined with restaurants. The only downsides were 1) The elevator was out of order when we visited, so we had to carry our luggage up to the 3rd floor up a very narrow outdoor staircase. 2) We lost power for about 30 minutes the morning we checked out, and 3) The breakfast area is located in a meeting room that can only be accessed from outside. It was raining the morning we were there, so that wasn't great, but on a nicer day, it wouldn't have been a problem. They offer a complimentary full breakfast, including breakfast burritos and biscuits and gravy, and it was delicious! The hotel is also located in close proximity to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row, and just a couple of blocks from numerous restaurants, bars, and shops. We really enjoyed our stay and wish it could have been a little longer!
